  • Can I drive a campervan with a standard UK driver’s licence?

    Yes

All our campervans have a MAM (maximum authorised mass) of 3500kg, and so you can drive them with a standard UK licence. You must be between 25 and 79 years of age, and have held a full UK or EU licence for at least 2 years prior in order meet our insurance requirements.

We can sometimes arrange insurance for drivers outside the age and license criteria – please contact us for details. In all cases, please let us know if you have any penalty points or convictions on your license – in most cases you’ll still be able to hire a Campervan, but it may mean a small additional premium to the insurance.

  • What is the shortest period I can rent a Campervan for?

The shortest rental period is 3 nights (a weekend’s hire) apart from in July & August when rises to 4 nights minimum rental – obviously due to high demand over Summertime period and school holidays.

All Bank Holidays this increases to 4 nights.

  • Do I need to get insurance for myself and the Campervan?

Fully comprehensive vehicle insurance is actually included within the price of the rental (subject of course to age restrictions & how many penalty points you have). Fully comprehensive UK insurance for the vehicle is for  one drivers on any one trip as standard. Additional Driver can be added (See extras). Breakdown cover is also included. If you are planning on travelling to the Republic of Ireland or to the EU then an additional charge of £125 will apply for EU insurance and breakdown cover.

Please note that our insurance does not cover your personal items and we strongly recommend arranging adequate travel insurance to protect yourself in the event of loss/damage of your personal items.

The Excess on any claim is £1250 in addition please remember to carefully read all Terms & Conditions.

  • What time of day can I collect my campervan?

Your campervan rental will be available for collection at 10am, Monday to Sunday – and it must be returned by 4pm on the last day of hire – in order that we can prepare them for the next rental customer. If this doesn’t suit your holiday needs please contact us by phone, and we will try to assist you with any special requests at the time of your booking.

Please allow 1 hour to pick up the vehicle at the depot to complete all documentation and for a comprehensive handover including a full demonstration on the vehicle

We will do our upmost to be as flexible as possible with collection and return times according to your plans, however, please ensure that these are adhered to so as not to impact on the next customers booking.

  • Do I need a pitch with electric hook up?

Our campers have dual leisure batteries fitted which can run the electrical systems, typically for 1 or 2 nights without ‘hooking up’ to an electricity supply, they also have solar panels for recharging the leisure battery– how long it lasts will depend on how much you use electrical appliances and lights, and also on the amount of sun to recharge the panel. The leisure battery also gets recharged as you drive.

  • Do I need a pitch with water?

All our campervans have on-board water and waste tanks so this isn’t essential.

Just remember to fill the water tank when you arrive on site, and of course making sure you fill it before returning the vehicle on the last day of the rental.

Also make sure you empty the waste tank and toilet casette on the last day. Charges may be incurred for waste tanks not being emptied.

Yes we can provide a duvet, pillow and towel bundle for each person at an additional cost of £20 pp

  • Is there gas in the motorhome for heating and cooking?

Our campervans all have LPG gas tanks fitted to run the gas appliances.

We check that these are sufficient before each rental goes out, so that you don’t have to worry.

These will need to be refilled before returning the vehicle.

  • Will there be fuel in the campervan when I collect it?

We operate a full-to-full fuel policy with rentals – i.e. the campervan will be supplied with a full tank of diesel, and so must be returned with a full tank please. Failure to do so will incur penalty charges as per our terms and conditions.

  • Do I need to clean the campervan before returning it from rental?

Please return the campervan in the same clean and tidy condition you collected it in. Also, please make sure you have emptied the toilet cassette and waste tank. Failure to do so will incur penalty charges as per our terms and conditions.

  • Do you allow dogs on-board the campervan?

We do allow dogs in certain campers, dependant on size and breed of dog. As standard an additional added charge of £40 per dog for each booking will apply.

  • If I am taking my dog what do I need to bring with me?

You will need to bring all of the dog’s items that they would ordinarily need at home, such as a bed, feeding bowl, and water bowl but most importantly you will need to bring a lead and collar, and you need to make sure that your dog is suitably restrained whilst travelling in the campervan.

Dogs must be restrained whilst travelling so as not to cause a distraction to the drive.

  • What happens if the campervan breaks down during our trip?

In the unlikely event of a breakdown with the vehicle, we do include 24-hour comprehensive breakdown cover as standard.

If you encounter any other problems with the appliances, or equipment within the campervan – then please contact us directly by phone for advice. It may be that you may have to visit a campervan dealership for repairs to be carried out – and of course you will be reimbursed for any pre-authorised expenses incurred.

Expenses incurred which are your own fault (such as locking the keys in the vehicle, using the wrong fuel type, or running the vehicle’s battery flat will not be reimbursed).

  • Do you impose any mileage limits on your motorhomes during the booking?

We operate a fair mileage policy which offers unlimited mileage in the UK.

Any Mileage over 150 miles per day if travelling in Europe will be charged at 40 pence per mile

  • Is smoking or vaping permitted on-board the campervan?

We do not allow smoking in any of our campervans – this includes tobacco, pipes, cigars or E-Cigarettes or vaping products of any kind.

  • What types of official documentation do I have to provide to hire a campervan?

Before the rental date and ideally at the time of booking, please provide us with the Driving Licence numbers, and National Insurance numbers for all drivers (if booking an additional driver).

On the day you pick up the campervan each driver must bring with them their driving licence card, passport and a recent (within 3 months) full proof of address – this can be in the form of a bank statement, credit card statement, council tax bill or utility bill. • What happens on the rental collection day?

So as not to impact on any other customers, we request that you arrive at the specified collection time slot – one which will have been discussed with you at the time of booking, and will be specified in your booking confirmation paperwork. On arrival we will complete the necessary paperwork with you which consists of a rental-hire agreement, and a copy of our Terms and Conditions.

We also take copies of all driver’s documentation, and we will the take payment of your Security Deposit if not previously done. Following this we give you a detailed handover of the vehicle, explaining how all the equipment works and answering any questions that you may have.

  • How long does the campervan handover take at each end?

We will usually spend between 30-60 minutes demonstrating and explaining how everything works – to ensure you feel fully confident, and comfortable with all the controls.

We also include a detailed Customer’s Guide in all our rental campervans.

When you return the vehicle we will do the necessary check on the Camper to be able to authorise the release the security deposit.

  • What are your policies regarding any possible further COVID-19 restrictions?

In the event of an enforced lockdown meaning that your campervan hire is not going to be possible, then we will allow you to transfer the booking to alternative dates in the future without any financial penalty.

The full monies paid including the deposit will simply transfer across to the new booking dates. If you decide that you wish to rearrange the trip during a different time of year (e.g. during peak season rather than mid-season) then, of course the appropriate difference in hire charge will be payable additionally.

If you decide to cancel rather than postpone your hire booking, then you will be subject to the terms of our normal Cancellation Policy in our Terms and Conditions.

  • Can I arrange to view one of your campervans before I book?

We can usually accommodate viewings of campervans by prior arrangement; however, this will depend on the time of year.

  • What do I need to bring with me?

Our campervans are very well equipped but don’t include bedding and towels, so please bring these with you (or hire them from us) as well as things such as toilet rolls
